The Admission office is located in the main lobby of the hospital. Patients or their immediate family members are requested to provide all necessary information concerning hospitalisation at the Admission office. If you have a pre-scheduled appoinment for admission, it is important that you arrive on time, because your doctor may have scheduled special tests for you (i.e., blood, x-rays, etc.) You will be asked to sign a consent form for admission to the hospital and for medical treatment. At this time you will be taken to the nursing unit to which you are assigned. A nurse will interview you by asking questions about your general condition, diet, allergies, personal habits and other factors, which will apply specialy to the nursing care you will receive.

Prior to hospitalisation your doctor will explain to you/your attendant, the provisional diagnosis and proposed line of investigation and treatment, approximate length of stay and treatment, approximate length of stay and reasons for admission to the hospital.Do not hesitate to ask again if you do not understand questions pertaining to these topics. it should not be be addressed to any hospital staff other than the consultant/senior doctor who is rresponsible for admitting you to the hospital.
Please feel free to ask the nursing staff any questions you have about our hospital, staff or procedures. We will try to provide you with the room accommodations of your choice. However, on occation, the accommodations you prefer might not be immediately available because of physician requests, special treatment procedures or the medical needs of other hospitalised patients.

Cost estimates are available during the normal working hours of the hospital from the Customer Serviceoffice located in the main lobby where they are more than happy to answer all questions related to financial matters prior to hospitalisation or as soon as possible thereafter, in case of emergency admission.

Please remember thet all cost estimates are approximations at their best and are based upon previous experience of the hospiital and information provided by your admitting Doctor. Actual expenses may vary, depending upon the length of stay, change of treatment plans, additional investigations, etc.

Use of intoxicants/ smoking/ carrying explosives or firearms by the patients or their attendents is strictly prohibited in the hospital premises. Such offence would be immediately reported to the police authorities.

It is contray ti the hospital policy to admit patients with known mental illnesses/ Medico-legal problems. Failure to disclose such information at the time of admission by the patient/ relatives will result in immediate discharge and release of liability, if any, on the part of United hospital.

Leaving of terminally ill/ handicapped/ indigent/ incompetent patients at United Hospital on the part of their relatives/ attendants is strictly prohivited. Relatives/ attendants of such patients should be available to the Doctor in-charge to discuss/ report their progress on daily basis. Failure to do so will release the Hospital from any liability claims.

The following personal checklist will help you prepare for admission to United Hospital:
- Night wear,robe,rubber-soled slippers (Hospital dresses are available)
- Personal toiletries (makeup,razor,toothbrush,toothpasteshampoo,dentures etc.)
- Reading materials and your address book
If you are packing for your child,you may wish to include:
- Comportable night clothes (child-size hospital dresses are available)
- A special toy or two, clearly labelled with your child's name
- Colouring books,crayons,books,etc.
Important Papers you must bring:
- Name and address of employer (in case the costs are borne by the employer)
- Name,address and telephone number of closest family member(s)
- List of all medications you are currently taking and any medication allergies

Please leave the following items at home:
- Jewelery and other valuables
- Electrical appliances that must be plug into an outlet:heating pads,electric blankets,hair dryers,curling irons,space heaters etc.
All electrical equipment is subject to a safety inspection by United Hospital.

In the interest of the health and safety of all patients and staff at United Hospital,Smoking is prohibited in the facilty.This policy must be strictly adhered to because of the availability of Oxygen therapy in each patient room.Oxygen increases the risk of fire and injury when exposed to open flame.

For your protection, we discourage you from going out of the building while hospitalized.Patients connected to equipment such as IV pumps and Oxygen apparatus are not permitted to go outdoor.

Patients and visitors can park their vehicles in the underground parking area which can accommodate around 300 cars. Limited parking is also available in front of the Emergency entrance for patients coming to Emergency Department.
