Cancer Specialists from home and abroad visited United Hospital Cancer Care Center
A 30 member team of Cancer Specialists from the Forum and Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA), recently visited United Hospital Cancer Care Center. Professor Shingo Katto and Professor Masru Waka Suki of Japan along with Cancer specialists from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Vietnam, Mongolia and Bangladesh were also present. They conducted a training session and visited the hospital's latest Radiation Therapy Facility such as PET CT, True Beam, Brachytherapy, SPECT CT etc and showed their satisfaction.
Mr. Faridur Rahman Khan, Managing Director of United Hospital discussed with them the progress of cancer treatment in Bangladesh and contribution of United Hospital in the journey. Along with the oncologists of the hospital, CEO Mr. Fazur Rahman and Chief of Communication & Business Development Dr. Shagufa Anwar were also present in the session. Dr. Ashim Kumar Sengupta, Clinical & Radiation oncologist from United Hospital delivered a presentation highlighting the country’s current status of cancer spread and overall treatment facilities.
It needs to be mentioned here that United Hospital is the only Medical Cyclotron based Cancer centre of the country from where Isotope (FDG) is supplied to all public & private cancer of the country to be used in PET CT to detect cancer.
