United Hospital signs MoU with Royal Free International for future collaboration

On 12th November 2019, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between United Hospital and Royal Free International which is part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. It is the first instance in Bangladesh where a Bangladeshi Hospital has signed an agreement with a British Hospital within NHS network. Royal Free Hospital, Barnet Hospital, and Chase Farm Hospital are part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. This collaboration will include Fellowship for United Hospital doctors & nurses at RFL, distant learning, technology transfer by RFL Consultants' placement in United Hospital for a defined period, or any future joint venture to develop institutional delivery process in identified areas.
The MoU was signed by Mr Mohammad Faizur Rahman, CEO of United Hospital and Ms Alison E Shutt, Commercial and International Development Director of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. In the signing ceremony, Chairman of United Group Mr Hasan Mahmood Raza, Managing Director of United Hospital Mr Faridur Rahman Khan, Managing Director of United Group Mr Moinuddin Hasan Rashid was present among others of United Hospital and United Group.
The Royal Free Hospital was founded in 1828, the title 'Royal' was granted to them by Queen Victoria in 1837. The Royal Free Hospital group offers a wide range of acute tertiary services including transplantation, cardiology and oncology. Royal Free Group is considered one of the best in the world in terms of patient care, clinical research and teaching facilities.
