Observance of World Cancer Day 2016 by United Hospital on 4th February

Mr. Faridur Rahman Khan, Managing Director of United Hospital officially openedthe Health Booth at Lobby . He told to the audience that United Hospital established a comprehensive cancer care center to provide international standard diagnosis and treatment for cancer patients and also highlighted the importance of prevention & early detection of Cancer. CEO & other High Officials were also present during the inauguration ceremony.

A good nos. of Cancer Survivors who treated at United Hospital along with family members participated in the Get To gether programme and share their experience & current status among the audience of the programme.

In the Seminar  the speakers initially highlighted about the current scenario of Cancer  and  they informed that every year 12 million people globally receive a cancer diagnosis and 7.6 million die of the disease. The experts predict that the number of cancer cases will increase to 26 million by 2030. The biggest increases are expected to happen in low & middle income countries. According toan estimate of National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital, Bangladesh has approximately 1,200,000 cancer patients and each year about 200,000 people develop cancer while 150,000 die of the disease. In Individual Lectures the Medical & Radiation Oncologists gave a clear picture of  Cancer Care Centre’s Diagnosis and Treatment facilities.
